Chofu City, Tokyo

Re:Glow Jindaiji — Private Personal Training in Chofu, near ICU and ASIJ

A single-room private studio in the green, low-rise Jindaiji-higashimachi area of Chofu City. Twelve minutes by bus from Chofu Station and one minute on foot from the bus stop. Of our two studios, this is the closer one for people living or working near International Christian University and The American School in Japan.

About language

Sessions are conducted in Japanese. Simple English and translation apps are welcome.

We have no English-speaking trainers, and being close to two international institutions does not change that — so we would rather be plain about it here than let you find out on the day. What we can say is that training is taught by demonstration: the trainer shows the movement, adjusts your position, and counts. Members who speak little Japanese manage well with that, plus gestures and a translation app. Booking, rescheduling and questions all go through LINE or email, in writing, where translation is easy.

Address, hours and contact

Japanese is given alongside the English so you can show it to a taxi driver or paste it into a map application.

Coming from Osawa or Nomizu

Both campuses sit near the boundary between Mitaka and Chofu, and Jindaiji is on the Chofu side of it. For residents of either neighbourhood, this studio is closer than our Mitakadai one even though Mitakadai shares a city with ICU.

  • From Nomizu, Chofu (The American School in Japan). Reachable on foot or by bicycle. Nomizu adjoins the Jindaiji area and is one of the closest neighbourhoods to this studio.
  • From Osawa, Mitaka (International Christian University). Reachable by bicycle or by car. Osawa is at the western edge of Mitaka City, so crossing the city boundary into Chofu is the shorter journey.

We have not measured door-to-door journey times from either campus, so no figure is quoted here. If you tell us where you are coming from when you enquire, we will describe the route honestly rather than guess at a number.

Being close is only half of it. The reasons international residents tend to stay are the ones that survive a language gap: a private room instead of a crowded floor, a fixed monthly price with no per-session upselling, all the gear provided so nothing needs carrying, and opening hours long enough to absorb an unpredictable week.

By bus, bicycle or car

  • By bus from Chofu Station. From the north exit of Chofu Station on the Keio Line, take the bus for 12 minutes and get off at Kokagakuen (晃華学園). The studio is one minute from the stop. It is a single bus, with no changes.
  • By bicycle. Roughly 10 to 15 minutes from central Chofu areas such as Tsutsujigaoka, Shibasaki and Kokuryo. There is a bicycle space at the studio, so this is the most common way local members arrive.
  • By car. Within about 10 minutes' drive of much of Chofu City, Fuchu City and southern Mitaka City. There is no dedicated car park, but coin parking is available nearby.
  • The neighbourhood. Jindaiji is known for its soba restaurants and for the Jindai Botanical Gardens, and the area is unusually green for Tokyo. Members often combine a session with shopping or a walk.

What is inside

The building is low and quiet, surrounded by greenery, and the studio inside is a single warm private room rather than an open gym floor. Only one session runs at a time.

  • Private training room with current machines. Equipment and programming are set up around the individual member rather than a class.
  • Shower room with full amenities. Everything needed to leave looking presentable is on site, which is what makes the empty-handed policy workable.
  • Free rental. Training wear, towels, shoes and water are provided at no cost on every plan, including the free trial.
  • Cafe space. Protein or coffee after training is included.

Same prices at both studios

All figures include consumption tax. Members may book at either studio at no extra cost.
